First and foremost…what’s with the name? Christy and I had been having a hard time finding an available domain that could work for both of us, and it seems that just about every generic Knight reference was taken. The next best thing that came to mind…our beloved dog Baxter. During our recent remodeling projects we have been frequently going out to the garage, leaving the front door open (but with a fence to keep him from roaming). It seems that Baxter will not be caged anymore, hence the name.
A little bit about me. I’m a native of the bay area, and even with the insane cost of living I can’t really imagine leaving. I’ve lived in Sacramento (didn’t care for it) and San Diego (LOVED it) but was drawn back to the south bay.
While in college I thought I would be able to find a career as a screenwriter, but my knack for conversational dialogue didn’t get me very far when I couldn’t think of things for them to talk about. Fortunately I found my way to PayPal in 2000, and it turned out they needed someone who could market conversationally. That was my introduction to community management and social media, and it’s been a blast ever since.
I also love movies, watch entirely too much TV (usually in bulk on DVD), and have a PS3 and 360…which means I have too many games too. Might as well do all that now before I have any kids.
