maybe tomorrow instead

oopsy… this one got posted a little late:

Today was not a good day for running. It has been stormy and rainy for 3 days now. I was fully content to sit on the couch all day but then I remembered that I’m supposed to be training for the 10k Valentines Day Fun Run in Campbell. I barely have 3 weeks to get ready, and I’m only at 2 miles. EEK.

So I dragged on my new lulu gear, hopped out to the garage to get a hat because in the middle of the rainy day there was a moment of sunshine and all that light was reflecting off the puddles.

I took off down the path with Baxter in tow. Ugh calves were screaming. I moved my phone to my skirt pocket and tried to figure out why the jacket pocket was still so heavy. OY, I never put away the garage door opener and car keys. I only made it another .2 miles after that. I was so distracted I couldn’t bear to keep running. As I trudged home I promised myself to run after school. I already had the perfect loop in mind.

Came straight home after class and pulled back on the familiar purple outfit. Grabbed a flashlight, remembered to take everything out of the pockets and set out. As I got closer and closer to the corner of Leigh and Hamilton it started to rain again. No matter, I pulled the hood over and kept walking. Then I realized that there really weren’t any street lights on Leigh. And I just wasn’t motivated enough to run through the rain, on a dark street in the middle of winter in a purple lycra running skirt and jacket. So back home I went.

On the bright side… I can try the same loop tomorrow if there is a rain break and it will still be light. Also, I remembered that I can use the side gate out of the complex to get to the corner sooner instead of walking aaalllll the way around. And I went through the music playlist and took out all of the duds. I’m thinking happy thoughts but the hour by hour weather website promises 90% chance of humidity all day. Drat.
