Today I went the an SCU mandatory academic advising session. I would say overall the event exceeded my expectations, as I was able to get a few good tidbits of information. For instance… I should call the financial aid department directly to figure out my student loan stuff. They are very helpful
Also, I may be able to waive 2 courses. I’m not sure yet, and I don’t want to get my hopes up, but if I can knock off 2 courses, that is almost $5k that I don’t have to deal with in loans. Not to mention the time. Although I would like to believe that I would actually learn more in the SCU class than in the online De Anza course. who knows. I am completing the waiver paperwork tonight so hopefully I will know soon. Although I can’t register until August 30.
I ran some numbers once I found out that I could move forward with my student loans. I think that with the amount of federal loans I qualify for, and the amount of PLUS loans I can get through the school for the year, I could theoretically get by without getting any more out in loans. I will have some savings (not a lot), and with no car payment my monthly bills are pretty small. Fingers crossed that I can be a poor student for once in my life. At least this time I won’t run up $8k in credit cards…. Ryan would kill me, and then divorce me. yikes!!

As a devout catholic I don’t believe in divorce…but in the old days kings thought killing was a suitable alternative
Calm down, calm down…anyone who knows me at all knows that I’M TOTALLY KIDDING. I’m so, not catholic!
